Fixing Mouse Acceleration and Sensor Smoothing in Windows 11

To obtain accurate DPI measurements and consistent in-game tracking, your operating system must pass raw sensor data without digital modification.

1. Disable Windows Pointer Acceleration

Windows includes a legacy feature called Enhance Pointer Precision, which dynamically increases cursor displacement based on physical velocity:

  1. Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mouse.
  2. Click Additional mouse settings.
  3. Under the Pointer Options tab, uncheck “Enhance pointer precision”.
  4. Ensure the pointer speed slider is centered on the 6th tick (11/11 neutral ratio).

2. Enable Raw Input in Games

Always verify that Raw Input Buffer or DirectX Raw Input is enabled in your game settings to bypass Windows desktop scaling completely.
